SALTUS- DAYLESFORD FEATURES IN POSTCARDS MAGAZINE

....... Onward I go to my accommodation for the weekend at Saltus - Daylesford.  This quaint free-standing retreat was originally to be a historic church hall, which was going to be relocated from 100 kms away.  It proved to be too big a job, so instead Amanda and Paul Houghton decided to build their own version, and so the beautiful Saltus Daylesford was born.

From the outside it looks just as it is meant to - like a small church, but just wait to you get in, because there's a treat for the senses every which way you look.  The interior is sleek and modern, yet warm and cosy, with a lovely open plan living area below and a snug sleeping area upstairs in the mezzanine.  There's a wood fireplace in the lounge, as well as a split system heating and cooling, modern appliances in the kitchen, a TV with DVD player both downstairs and upstairs and heaps of reading material in case you just want to relax.

But what I really just want to pack up and take home with me is the bathroom!  About as big as two of my bedrooms put together, this bathroom features a free standing luxious bath, superbly positioned in front of the gas fireplace.  Not to mention a shower with water pressure I could only dream of and bath products called Serendipity that certainly live up to their name.  I can't decide whether to luxuriate in the bath with the lights dimmed low, the fireplace going and some gentle music playing or to shower and let the pelting water ease my aching muscles.  So I decide to do both - one for each morning and night!

It really is the perfect place to get away and chill.
